Value relevance of the new operating income: evaluation of the exposure draft 2019/07

Purpose: To analyze the value relevance of new operating result proposed by ED/2019/07 in Brazilian companies relation to gaap and non-gaap measure, assessing associated with market companies.
 Methodology: We used economic financial data, available at Economatica, from 149 9 sectors B3, which had annual information necessary carry out study period 2010 2019. For data analysis, we a restatement current income statement, assess provided for Exposure Draft. relevance, model Ohlson (1995) was used, allows evaluating explanatory power R2 regression.
 Results: The results analyzes suggest that, analyzed companies, New Operating Income (R2=0.4439) is higher than EBITDA (R2 = 0.4321), followed Net 0.4094). Such show that Result has greater companies' value. So, corroborate conclusions Barton et al. (2010) have measure and, consequently, association stock returns.
 Contributions Study: provides empirical evidence on possible impacts practical implications, how change presentation statement can impact predictability actions.
